Job Description

We are currently recruiting experienced Technical support petrophysics in unconventional reservoirs on behalf of a major international Oil Company

Location: France   Onshore

Start Date:  01/07/2018

Duration:  01/08/2018 11 Months

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
The petrophysics of source rocks (shales / mudrock) is in its infancy. Due to its intrinsic characteristics (nanometric pore thresholds and complex mineral and organic compositions), this type of formation has "exceptional" properties that cannot be measured by conventional techniques. Certain properties of these rocks, in particular adsorption, diffusion, geomechanical propertiescan play a predominant role.
A major research effort is devoted to understanding the transport mechanisms in shales. This task requires the development of porous network characterization methods and an understanding of the role of hydrocarbon-rock interactions in hydrocarbon transport.

DESCRIPTION OF THE SERVICE WITH TASKS AND DELIVERABLES

Tasks to perform

-To develop innovative methods for petrophysical characterization of source rocks / shales.

-To look for innovative characterization methods of the geometry of the porous network of shales, using multi-scale methods

-To build innovative laboratory experiments to identify and describe multi-phase flow mechanisms in shales

-To participate in the development of a core measurements workflow for shales

-To participate in the design of a research portfolio covering from short-term up to long-term research actions

-To present results at internal meetings and scientific conferences

Deliverables

-Publications of reports and publications summarizing research findings.
